Standard Testing Procedures

Every cable assembly and wire harness undergoes rigorous electrical and mechanical testing to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with specifications.

Continuity Testing

Verifies all electrical connections are complete and wired correctly. Detects open circuits, shorts, and miswired connections.

Insulation Resistance

Measures insulation quality between conductors and ground. Ensures proper isolation and prevents electrical leakage.

Hi-Pot Testing

Dielectric withstand test applies high voltage to verify insulation can handle voltage stress without breakdown.

Visual Inspection

100% visual inspection for workmanship, proper assembly, correct labeling, and physical damage.

Pull Testing

Mechanical pull tests on crimped terminals and connectors to verify proper crimp quality and retention force.

Dimensional Check

Verify cable lengths, connector positions, and overall dimensions match specifications and tolerances.

ISO/IATF Certified Quality Management

Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards. We maintain comprehensive documentation, traceability, and continuous improvement programs to ensure consistent quality across all production runs. For assemblies that require recognized materials, hi-pot evidence, and export compliance records, review our UL CSA certified cable assembly capability before locking the production test plan.

Real Project SnapshotElectrical-Supply · US · 2024 · Scope: wire harness

A real electrical-supply brief we delivered against

The brief. A US electrical supply distributor required custom wire harnesses with specific Molex connectors, but a production batch had a dyeing/color deviation on the connector housings.
The hard bit. Approximately 200 pieces of the wire harness assembly had connector coloring that did not match the strict aesthetic and technical requirements, risking rejection and project delay.
What we did. Implemented a rapid rework process where the 200 pieces were returned and the connectors were correctly dyed and replaced, while tightening in-process quality control for custom color specifications.
How it landed. Successfully reworked and delivered the batch without losing the client's trust; the client continued to place repeat orders in the following months without quality complaints.

Frequently Asked Questions

What testing is included with every cable assembly?

100% of our cable assemblies undergo continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and hi-pot (dielectric withstand) testing. These tests verify proper connections, insulation quality, and electrical safety before shipment.

Can you perform custom testing procedures?

Yes, we can implement custom testing procedures based on your specifications or industry standards. This includes mechanical stress tests, environmental testing, signal integrity tests, and more. Provide your test plan and we'll execute it.

Do you provide test reports and certifications?

Every shipment includes detailed test reports documenting all testing performed, pass/fail criteria, and measured values. We can also provide certificates of conformance, material certifications, and compliance documentation as needed.

What quality certifications do you hold?

Our facilities are ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 certified. We maintain strict quality management systems and can manufacture to industry-specific standards like CE, AS/NZS, and RoHS compliance.

How do you handle failed test units?

Failed units are quarantined, root cause analysis is performed, and corrective actions are implemented. We rework defective units when possible or replace them at no charge. Quality issues are tracked and analyzed for continuous improvement.

Can I witness testing or inspect products before shipment?

Absolutely! We welcome customer visits for witness testing and final inspection. You can also request video documentation of testing procedures or arrange third-party inspection services.

What is your typical defect rate?

Our defect rate is consistently below 0.1% thanks to rigorous testing and quality control. We track quality metrics closely and implement continuous improvement programs to maintain the highest standards.
